    Best Range Belt Setup

    Hey everyone,

wanted to get into a more tactical and fun range time, without trying to find mags every where and was looking into a belt set up.

I originally wanted a QLS holster but was told that they dont hold the gun properly.

so this is what im thinking

Ronin holsters ( do they fit milled Glock slides?) Also have a sig so I would have to buy another holster

    HSGI mag pouches

    and Ronin Shuto belt

any other attachments I would need?

    thank you

    does anyone have any q

What do you plan to shoot? Each org has its own requirements.

you just described my belt setup, even down to the Ronin belt, except I *DID* go with a QLS system with a t-rex arms ragnarok holster for a g19. 5 hsgi polymer taco pistol mags on the left hip, 2 hsgi polymer AR mag pouches over the right butt cheek, generic dump pouch over left butt cheek. My main pistol is my g19. I do most of my shooting in USPSA (production), but have taken classes at Frontsight with the same setup.

In more casual shooting settings (i.e. not run and gun), this belt setup has supported a fullsize 1911 down to a M&P Shield.

The only drawback is the screw hole pattern for the QLS fork is not always 100% compatible with whatever holster I might be running; two holes might be lined up, but not the third. You can still use only two screws and get good results.

do you have a milled slide on your G19? does it fit the holster ok?

            Safe Life Defense Tactical Belt
G-Code Scorpion Mag Carrier (Short) for Pistols x2
G-Code Scorpion Mag Carrier for Rifles x2
Safariland 6390 ALS Holster for a Glock 34 Gen 3 + X300 WML (mid-ride setup to allow for armor)

Still waiting for some stuff to get added, ie., handheld light carrier, CAT carrier, med pouch, etc. And still saving up for the Safe Life Defense IIIA armor, though...

That said, the QLS allows me to easily switch holsters between the G34.3 and the G21.SF. And in contrast to what you have heard, it is quite STURDY!

Even the Level 1 ALS (thumb release) is not that intrusive... Can get it out to 10-yard sight picture at 0.9-sec (can go faster with more practice).

I do not have a milled slide. Unless there's some really weird and way out of the box milling/optics on your g19, I'd bet you'll have no problem. The t-rex arms guys shoot red dotted glocks all the time with their ragnarok holsters.

have you heard of ANR holsters?

I have not. Looking at their website, I don't think those holsters would be compatible with a QLS system; they look like they'd be fine with a milled slide. The Ronin tactics belts use that neat riggers(?) buckle, so you could thread the belt to your holster of choice once, then use the belt buckle pretty easy. But if you want to switch holsters on the fly, without a QLS, you'd have to unthread the belt buckle and holster each time; PITA IMO.

The sizing on the ronin belts, im more on the side of 33 to 34 , should I go up a size or do they come pretty well fit to begin with?

Each belt is designed with a bit of custom adjustment available via the right hand buckle.

If you plan on losing inches around your waist, i'd go with the small. I'm probably <34"waist, have a medium belt, and i have no more adjustment room to go smaller on the belt

For a cheaper setup, how about a $57 Krydex belt (inner and outer Velcro belt) with 4 mag pouches, and a $35 Bladetech OWB holster?

I’ve used that for a 3 day class and the action shooter safety course (needed to be allowed to do matches at my local range) and it held up fine

If you are going to shoot multigun I like double alpha and I add a racheting setup to the ends to keep everything tight. I also like an inner and outer belt to give myself a break.

I like tekloks but not everyone needs to pack 30-40 12ga, 3-4 rifle mags, 3-5 pistol mags. Not a fan molleloks for shotshell and quad stack carriers. I've knocked off gear crawling thru tubes.
