CMP EIC match, July 6th at Camp Pendleton

Santa Margarita Gun Club is running both a CMP "practice" and immediately afterward an EIC match on Saturday, July 6th.

I am a distinguished pistol shot but have never shot a non-military EIC match. What’s the best bet to wrap my head around the rules and set my self up for a Eric match (civilian side). Is just reading the CMP rules my first step or is there a document or forum somewhere that I could reference like a easy guide or a first timer info sheet lol. Is there a official match program for this match? OMP has always been my bible but the CMP rules are very broad, intimidating and confusing as a whole.

Very similar to the NRA Highpower Service Rifle match, which you can google a lot of youtube info.

From the course of fire:
Be in the parking lot of Range 214/Horno no later than 0700.
On the firing line at 0730 for the safety briefing.
Shoot a modified XTC match:
10 shots standing at 200 yards.
10 shots sitting rapid at 200 yards.
10 shots prone rapid at 300 years.
10 shots slow prone at 500 yards.
Sighters (2) allowed for each stage.

Immediately following this match, we will commence the Rifle EIC match as follows:
20 shots slow prone at 500 yards.
10 shots rapid prone from standing at 300 yards.
10 shots rapid sitting from standing at 200 yards.
10 shots standing at 200 yards.
NO sighter shots.

Thanks. I have always shot Combat EIC matches and National matches slick with no special equipment other than a sling. Only ever used a parade sling. I have a m16 clone bushmaster dissy I’m going to take to the range and get some data on and see if it shoots good enough for what I’m trying to do.
