AK training?

Any AK training options, ideally in SoCal, available? Most of the Carbine training classes are geared toward AR's. Anything more geared to AK's? Looks like Rifle Dynamics has a AK discovery class in LV, but anything else more local?

I'm pretty sure any carbine class will be fine for the AK platform. The classes aren't usually geared towards any one platform. It's up to you to adapt your platform to the curriculum.

The class you're referencing, Center-T AK Operator Class at Pro Gun Club near Vegas in July 27-28 is as near as can be to SoCal. Taught by a real Russian Spetsnaz, Dmitry Yermak. I took in a few years ago when it was co-hosted by Rifle Dynamics and AK Operators Union. You, babushka, twenty poosh ups . . .

They haven't had their AK-dedicated class for 4+ years now. Most are generally in NorCal or Nevada. Awesome classes though!

I'll be down for that! If they ever have it again, LMS's Practical Carbine held at "The Ranch" is nothing like the other rifle classes. Usually I'm the only one with an AK, but it'd be awesome if a bunch of us come shooting some Russian steel. No basic rifle training provided though, just shooting and fighting in various natural terrain and light conditions.

I took the second class a few years ago when it was held in AZ and met with Paseclipse. That was a lot of fun. Suarez went into a lot into the particulars of AK fighting.

Various AK classes are available for those interested. You just have to travel to other states.

You should've been there when Rob Ski held a class with Jim Fuller (they were still friends then) and with the Center-T Spetsnaz guys too. It was epic.
