I have a question in regards to the utah ccw i recently took the utah ccw class and after completion of the class the only thing i received from the instructor was the application with his bci stamp. Is that the only thing i need besides the fingerprints etc ect. And are the instructors required to give you a certificate after completion of the course or just a "stamp" on the application.

The Utah Instructor should have explained and outlined the entire application process for you. He should have provided you with a copy of the approved course outline as well. Half the battle is completing the paperwork correctly. The course curriculum and mandated topics are very simple and basic; Gun Safety 101, Weapon Handling, Concealment Methods, Utah Laws, Use of Force, etc.
Here's the application process for obtaining your Utah Concealed Firearm Permit:
Attend a Class offered by a Utah Certified Instructor (Here's a link to the list of Instructors)
Complete the one-page State application and include the following:
One Blue (Applicant) Fingerprint Card
A Recent 2"X2" Passport quality photograph
A photocopy of your valid Driver's License
Have the application Notarized
Include a check/money order/or credit card for $65.25
Submit the application to:
Utah D.P.S. Bureau of
Criminal Identification
3888 West 5400 South
Taylorsville, UT 84118-3549
Hope this helps!

On the top of your application is what additional information and items you need to supply.

Dont worry about your number. In LE that would be where we would write our case number for the individual we were printing so it could be tracked.
For reason fingerprinted you can easily write in "Utah CCW Applicant" or such.
In the middle of the card, you only need to add your Citenzenship, and your social security number. Fill out the other boxes as you can easily indentify the informatyion they are requesting.
Make sure you do this with a black pen.
Forgive me for my lousy spelling.Comment

Dont worry about the business part of the fingerprint card. I did not fill it in as it is optional and directions for the FL CCW app even states that you should not fill it in.
Expect a wait as well. I sent in my application towards the end of February and Utah just charged my credit card yesterday. I expect a wait of another month or more before I see anything in the mail. Can't wait though. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing
