Call him run-like-hell-when-shtf-guy or dial-911-guy but NEVER call an unarmed man "Security".

Thanks for sharing, good advice - I will be sure and practice at home as if the barrel was hot from now on. And also pack an extra set of underwear to the range

OP was using borrowed shell carriers that required him to load strong hand, which is his less preferred and least used method. OP grabbed a handful of hot barrel on his shotgun with weak hand when he went to reload, getting burned and then trying to quickly shift his grip somehow got a finger in the trigger guard causing AD.

Moral of the story is plan for a hot barrel when you practice reloading at home, and work out a technique that wont burn you. And of course always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction, which OP did. The round discharged into the ground 5 to 10 feet downrange.

Yep, concisely put. I started out strong hand loading and did that for a couple of years but I just do not practice it as often as I should. and when I have practiced its apparent I was getting sloppy with the weak hand grip.

Thank you, I have never done any competitions. This is good knowledge though for home defense.

                  THX for sharing.

For future ref. Don't have the windows down -or- have the camera too close to the air vent. Too much wind noise. : )

Glad you didn't do this on my stage. I may have needed a new pair of underwear.

I was the CRO on stage 1. I don't think I recognize you so you must not have made it to my stage.

I used to load strong hand. Wore a glove MJ style for the hot barrel.

Too bad about the DQ, but ND is some serius ****. Did the gun fly off your hands?

Nope, I had just gotten the right grip on the front of it and had a death grip on the buttstock, albiet with a finger on the bangswitch.

Oops... sorry. I am really bad with names and apparently faces.

                              Stage 2 was a bear.
