Reopening Part Deux! We have a more powerful server, twice the CPU and four times the RAM.
I'm kind of afraid to say this but... let's stress test this thing!
For the rear, I believe you can buy a White Oak rear sight to install on your upper. If not, I know for a fact Northern Competition sells rear sight assemblies in 1/4x1/4MOA by themselves.
You just want to replace your front sight post, and not the whole front sight base? I would suggest shooting with a USGI front sight post before switching to something thinner, especially at 600 yards. Depending on your eye sight and fatigue during a match, a thicker post is actually good thing when you get to the 600 yard line. Many people get to the 600 yard line and experience eye fatigue the results in sight fade, which causes errant high and low shots at 12 and 6 o'clock, respectively. A thicker front sight will alleviate this issue.
This is why you'll actually find experienced shooters that use a .072" or even the original square (untapered) USGI post, as opposed to the .052" or .062".
