.223 Competetive shooting

Are there any ranges that offer competetive shooting for AR-15 style rifles here in California, or do you pretty much have to go out of state?

I'm trying to find something preferably north of sacramento, but information on any competitions would be appreciated.

You can use an AR-15 style riflein 3 gun competition. You'll use the rifle, pistol, and shotgun.

Are you talking about static, benchrest type shooting (Highpower) or dynamic, tactical type (3-Gun)? I think they do both of these at Sac Valley.

Chabot just had its monthly tactical rifle shoot. Many EBR's were there.

What kind of competition are you interested in doing?

How far north of Sac are you?

If you're willing to drive to the Sac Valley range, or Richmond and Chabot ranges in the bay area, there's lots of competition. I think Yolo and Lincoln also put on HP matches.

AR-15 style rifles are by far the most popular rifles used in High Power shooting. They eclipsed M14 or M1A style rifles around 10 years ago
