Saving up $$$ for a shot timer - which one?

    Hi Guys...

Beginner shooter here - am saving up for a shot timer, not only for competition practice (just for fun), but ALSO for dry practice at home.

    I've seen two recommendations:

    Thanks a lot...!!!

I like the PACT Club Shot Timer 3. It is simple, easy to use, loud, and will take a beating. The battery in it lasts forever too. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/96...b-shot-timer-3

If you were going to choose between the two you posted, I'd go for the CED7000.

Go with the CED. It way more configurable, and when your at a match and the scorer tells you he forgot to write down the time from the previous shooter you will still have it in the timer. Very handy feature.

I have the pocket pro and I would recommend it. It works out really well.

Pocket pro has worked perfectly for me although I wonder, does it save times?

I'd also recommend going up to the PACT Club Shot Timer 3. The Pocket Pro has been around for a long time and is solid, but the PACT is just better

It is only $10 more than the CED.

I prefer the CED type form factor for personal use (i.e. not for running a match).

I really like my pocket pro II, works great, was pretty cheap. I have seen them ummm "handled" at various matches and they hold up well to umm use.

For dry fire at home I use a shot timer app on my phone though, because it is easier to do drills with.

The CED 8000 has earphone outlet for dry fire at home that won't bother housemates, neighbors or cats. Works great at indoor ranges under the muffs and sensitivity can be turned way down so it doesn't pick up (most) of the other shooters.

There is a CED 8000...? Let me check on that first!

Pocket Pro user here and I am quite happy with it. I used a CED one time for an entire match and didn't really care for it. The display is kind of small and hard to read for us old blind guys and the beep was a little hard to hear as well. Plus the unit is kinda small and a little tricky to hang onto. JMHO

                            Hi Guys!

I did some check and find that the CED 8000 is out of stock (maybe not in production anymore), and has not so good reviews.

I think I'll be going with a PACT that one CalGunner is offering me at a very good deal.

                            Thanks to all your input!

i have a ced 7000 and im going to get a pocket pro instead.
i cant keep track of the silly charging cable, and im half (well... mostly) retarded so when i remember to check the battery status 9 seconds before i leave for the range, its a bummer when i cant just stop and buy a 9 volt.
you can get a attachment for the ced 7000 that takes aaa batteries, but then i cant use my squishy case.

other than that.... its great!!! wanna buy it ? lol
