I have seen a lot of forums/videos lately of people running magazine extensions from companies like Taran Tactical Innovations. Does anyone know if these exist in a version that does not expand the capacity of the magazine, but simply adds weight to the mag? In other words a CA legal magazine baseplate.

I shoot a Gen 3 Glock 17.

You'll need the pads if running a magwell.

Taran Tactical Innovations make +0 base pads. So does Dawson Precision. Weight over 1 oz is verboten in IDPA, I'm not sure if there is a weight limit in USPSA Production/Limited.

I thought TTI did. Do you happen to have a link to somewhere you know they can be purchased? I had trouble finding them on the TTI website.

I heard that TTI basepads will no longer be available to CA residents. Anyone else heard this recently?

What division of which sport are you looking to shoot in?

For a Glock it seems the most common modifications for the more "stock" divisions like Production in USPSA or Stock Service Pistol in IDPA are in somewhat of a order by popularity:
-front and rear sights. normally plain black rear and fiber optic front.
-allowable internal work. normally a connector, all new springs and polish job. search 25 cent trigger job Glock.
-a stainless steel guide rod with appropriate recoil spring for your ammo.
-grip plug for base of grip at magwell opening. grip tape where allowable.

then people start to spend money on things like trigger kits, stippling if allowed, titanium strikers and plungers and also as you want, mag base plates.

I just heard this morning that it is indeed true. TTI basepad extensions will no longer be sold to CA residents.

They have determined that the base pads constitute a "high capacity magazine converion kit" as per Penal Code 32311 (a result of AB 48). The Glock +0 pads are now the only ones available in CA.
