Competition shooting. How to get started?

[JSJ11B]

What's up CALGUNNERS!

Never knew I'd have an itch for competition shooting but it finally got to me.
Was wondering if there were any classes/steps I needed to take.
When and where? Possible ranges in the Bay Area?
I'd appreciate all the help!
Thanks

I think Richmond still has their Safe Handgun Competitor class. That's how I got started there.

In Sacramento, the SDPS dudes run a great intro clinic too.

Definitely go to Richmond Hot Shots. Great group of shooters there and they do intro classes to make sure you learn how to be safe at your first match.

The Bay Area is pretty big. Where are you located?

Ok, now what kind of matches do you want? Pistol, Rifle, 3 Gun, High Power, Long range? Are you new to competitive shooting or shooting in general?
