Front sight Alaska

Arrived yesterday,71degrees and blue skies ,sundown near midnight.drove to facility very lush and green lots of fisherman as it is salmon season.buckshot and slugs in low supply at Walmart plenty of birdshot.alaska doers not allow ammo shipments unless to an ffl.looking forward to cool weather and a little rain.pics latter

Front sight Alaska does exist and it is a winner. I have been to Pahrump many time sand there is no comparison between the two, in Alaska the classroom is a beautiful log lodge on the edge of a lake. The lodge and ranges are nestled in a lush forest Arriving in Kenai was uneventful,Avis had two pleasant clerks who brought the rental car to the curb and Alaska air handled the firearms perfectly. The midday weather was 71 degrees and blue skys.Days two and three had a little rain at night and in the morning but cleared by shooting time. Finding ammo in Alaska is surprisingly difficult so bring what you can,it cannot be shipped. The Walmart in Kenai had some shotgun shells but little else. The range and setting reminded me of a pacific northwest resort.The shotgun skill builder class had six students, and Kevin Cress was the instructor. The class was the typical frontsight skill builder format and Kevin followed the frontsight script but due to the small class size Kevin had time to give us more one on one time,and Kevin was able to give us insights from some of the more advanced classes.We actualy got more training done in two days than we usually get done in four.We were able to run a single relay much of the time We ate lunch at the lodge and were allowed to use the refrigerator, Kevin had coffee ready each morning. I made new friends and trained in a relaxed and productive environment. The unhurried relaxed environment made the training more productive. The other 5 students tied the trip to fishing and were quite successful limiting out on "reds" with a local guide. At the end of the first day we did a practice test and the actual test was mid morning on day two.The testing procedure was much less hectic with only five of us taking it. In summary my advice to front sight members is 1] IF you don't have the Alaska supplement get it! 2] Take a class from Kevin Cress 3]Do not stay at the Nikiski inn unless you like the smell of rotting fish and cigarette smoke. I actually like saddle west just to put it in perspective. My advice to frontsight-Add an intro to fishing class. I feel like I am giving away a secret as the attitude up there was shhhhh, don't tell anyone. Pics to follow

Will post a few more pics next week might have some range pics-they were nice.I dont know what the latest membership or upgrade is that gives access to Alaska but I am sure it wont be long before the next offer shows up on are e-mails.
