Plenty of options available for food. Driving allows you to easily transport multiple firearms and the required ammo.

I guess then what you want is for someone to guess your hotel and then price the hotel and food there.

The price I had is no longer available to people. My hotel was comp'd. But I'd be surprised if you spend more than $40 per day on food. $90 or so for the hotel (out the door) is possible also.

There are a ton of CG members who have memberships to sell or give away to front sight... you should be able to buy a basic membership for $200-$300

Or you can buy a certificate for your first class for $50. (i might still have some if interested)

You will also need to pay a $50 "background" fee once per calender year...

            Hotels-
Saddle West is the cheapest- but figure on $60-$80/ night for hotel

AIR BNB and VRBO are also active in the area so if you go with a group, you can get 3-5 bedroom places for $100-$150/ night

So if you can travel with others from your area and split hotel & Gas, the cost is cheaper....

It is about a 30 minute drive from Pahrump to Front Sight... or about 50 Minutes from Vegas...

You can find the $30/ night off strip hotel in Vegas.... so that would also save a few bucks if you don't mind the extra drive each day

Dry Practice starts at 7:15 and the classes start @ 8 AM

If you are considering flying, the ammo prices on 45 ACP were reasonable...

A friend flew in from Michigan to take a class and he said prices were within $1/box of what he could find online....

Just get to the range early on day one to get checked in and collect your ammo....

You can book rental cars from COSTCO.com.... http://www.costcotravel.com/h=4005

They offer a great rate to members....

Your original post didn't have enough info so I gave you a link to a thread where quite a few of us FS members post. I'm sure someone there could assist if we knew a little more. (ie; are you staying in the cheapest place available or would you like something a bit nicer)
what do you drive? becuase the cost of driving a prius vs a Hummer or flying are all very different.
what course are you taking? Do you mind checking a firearm with TSA? will you be flying with ammunition? (Because you can't take 700 rounds with you on a plane)

                gotta work with us here.

My wife and I likes staying at the Cottages at the Winery in Pahrump. I think they are $70 per night when attending a FS course. The cottages are approximately 350 square feet and self contained with full kitchen, bath, wifi, cable, bedroom, and deck.

I spend about $500-$600 on hotel and food during a four day class. I stay on and off the LV strip. I eat like a local and avoid hotel restaurants. I usually travel solo so I don't follow others around like a tourist.

I've started many trips to FS from the North Bay. As for fuel costs, I factor in 1600 miles for the round trip. I average about 24 mpg of premium fuel.

depends on what you want to do and how you want to do it. you can go super cheap, drive, camp etc.. or fly, get a nice hotel rent the car etc...

depends on what you want to spend. I leave the day of the class to save on an extra night hotel. drive in. shoot go to a cheap hotel in Pahrump, or in Vegas. pack a lunch, stay 3 nights and then drive home... I have camped, pulled the 5th wheel, hotel, etc.. cost wise drive a car, cheap hotel and make my own food... plus use my illegal reloads... that's been the cheapest for me. about 400 bucks round trip with a nice dinner every night

we stay at saddle west and the rooms cost $55 ($65 deluxe) per night. add in taxes and it is $240 for 4 days. you can split that up to 4-ways depending on how many people attend. they do include breakfast buffet vouchers for 2 people each day in the room cost so you don't have to pay for breakfast. $10-15 for lunch (can order box lunch from saddle west or get something from the Beach Cafe lunch truck). Dinner is less than $20 usually (we usually go to Irene's casino or Mom's diner).

if you are flying in, look at Ammo Supply Warehouse for your ammo needs. they are based in Pahrump they have good mail-order prices and you can pick up from them Thursday night when you get into town or they will deliver to your hotel.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
