I've loaded 9MM with it. Loading as light as I can, and still cycle the wife's Glock, shoots fine, a bit dirty and we seem to get plenty of muzzle flash. It could be that we're not getting it up to full operating pressure (for a cleaner burn).

I have 8# of BE-86 arriving tomorrow, and I'm pretty excited to try it out. Alliant has a lot of recipes on their web site for 9mm and .40 S&W. They show max loads and they suggest starting at 10% less than published data.

Oh BTW how did the small amount of Power Pistol and WST that I gave to you work out?

If you want 9mm "Special" then use a faster burning powder.

I bought a couple pounds of Hodgdon Universal powder a few years ago. Use it for .380, 9mm, .357 Sig, .44 spcl/mag, .45acp. I use it for plincking rounds.
meters nice in a dillon 650 machine.

I have not tried it yet because I can't find any for sale for a reasonable price.

It is suppose to be the next greatest thing in reloading (from Alliant powder). It fulfills a variety of different pistol calibers, and is suppose to give reloaded ammo performance similar to factory loads.

I want to get some. I heard it has the unique characteristic but it meters much much better.

Any more calgunners experience? I am reading the other sites and liking what I see. This powder drought drove me to a risky decision....

I've never used be-86 but I got 8 lbs for $143 out the door. I've read anecdotal experience and figured at that price it's worth it.

I'll come back once I get some testing done.

I replaced all my Bullseye with BE-86. My go to powder for 45 now. Wish I had recipe for a 200gr pill in 40 so I could test it out. 38 Super and 9mm is great. Waiting on a chrono to test 38 Super velocity. I have high hopes for this powder though.

You mind sharing what you like to run the .45 at?

I read it does really well with 185 gr. I only have a bunch of 230 grains on hand at the moment.

Hopefully I can get sometime to make some test loads for .45, .38spcl and 9mm and get to the range this weekend.

I have been using BE-86 for loading 115gr xTremes in 9mm and like it a lot. However, the unique thing about Unique is that I have reloaded 12GA trap load, 9mm, 38 Special, 45 Colt, 45 ACP, and 303 British w/cast bullets, and it worked great in all! Not sure how BE-86 does with 12GA and rifle w/cast bullets yet.

I'm pushing Xtreme 200gr RN with it. Even at max load it is really nice shooting and accurate out of my Para 1911. Will not get a chance to chrono for a while though.
