Reloading cost of .243 vs .204

Anyone load for each? I'd be looking into the cost per round for reloading 55gr .243 or .40gr .204.

    Help is appreciated. Thank you.

About 4 cents less for powder in the .204.

do the math. 7000 grs. of powder per pound. Divide the cost of your powder per pound but 7000, them multiply that number by the number of grains needed. Tadaaaa!

Projectiles (and volume discounts) aren't as abundant with .204, same with the brass. I don't load .204, but a close friend of mine does and he treats that brass as if it's gold.

Large rifle primers vs small rifle primers, bigger 6mm bullets vs 20 caliber bullets, and an extra 12 grains or so of powder, are the cost differences between the two, assuming you already have your own stash of brass for each. If so, I'd say the price difference between the two is closer to 10 cents per round.

that is the only reason why i never got a 204. they are expensive to get started via buying the brass.
