Was shooting on BLM with friends the other day when I was doing a weapon transition from my Dad's AK 47 to my Glock 23 with the lone wolf 9-40 conversion barrel. "Pop , click"
racked the slide and saw a bunch of unburnt powder when ejecting the case. Stopped and tore down the pistol and saw my bullet stuck in the barrel.
These were my reloads 115gr Berry's copper plated, .57cc VihtaVuori 3N37 Winchester primers and Winchester range brass flying at 1112FPS. After looking at the case the firing pin indentation looked light and rounded instead of the rectangle shape that Glocks do. So assuming it was just a weak primer that didn't set off the powder.
Felt real lucky and bought a lotto ticket. Ive reloaded close to 1500 9mm over 1000 .223/5.56 and 500 30-06 since 2013. It was bound to happen and I feel a little better knowing it was the components and not me. What does bug me is that I didn't hear the "mouse fart" through my ear muffs. Should probably get electronic muffs.
