Reloading help using xtreme bullets

I am a new reloader and cannot find any load data for xtreme bullets but, i have heard that people are turning to the Speer manual to get started.

I'm using; IMR 4756 powder
xtreme bullets 9mm-124 RN copper plated
CCI 500 primers

Also, I am shooting the new rounds out of a S&W M&P pro series that has a 5" barrel. I know that my velocity with go up due to the extra 1" of barrel length so, should I not seat the bullet as far to counter the increased velocity or, am i simply over thinking this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

why would the xtreme bullets be any different from regular 9mm-125 RN?

I just cannot find any published data for these bullets so, i'm wondering if there is anything published out there? Also, The fact that thy're copper plated so what bullet data do i use when looking up the data?

Use jacketed data for similar bullets. Start at the low side and work up to where you want your loads to be.

Lee has some plated information for 9mm. Most of the time I use lead info.

I tried the sr4756 in 9 and was not satisfied but it did work.

In general for plated bullets you should be able to get any data for 124gr fmj as well as 124gr rnld and load lighter than lead but less than a true fmj and stay in between the load data for those types of bullets, you should be gtg and work low to high. Good luck!

Lee book has 9mm copper plated info. Thats what I use.

I used to use SR4756, mainly because it was the only pistol powder that was available to me when I started reloading.
I used 4.8 gr with 124 gr plated xtreme bullet with cci500 spp.
I was using this load for my local IDPA matches with my Glock 17. I moved to Titegroup as it meters better in my Dillon.
I got my load data from the Hornady book with the 124 gr FMJs, built a test ladder starting in the middle.

I'm in the same boat SacJDog as it was the only pistol powder i could find when I was up in Idaho. I haven't looked around southern California yet. Do you remember your C.O.L. or, what you seated the bullets too?

Thanks again i was going to use the Hodgdon data for the 124 GR. BERB HBRN TP and that data called for

min. load 4.9g 967fps 27,100 PSI
max load 5.4g 1,066fps 30,800 PSI

with your test ladder data it would probably be a hot load.

The xtreme ammo I have used usually loads the same as similar type FMJ ammo from other manufacturers. As long as the weight is consistent, it shoul be in the load books by weight and caliber.
