QuickLoad Gurus: Looking for data on Berger 73gr Target + BL-C(2)

Any Quickload pros able to provide some basic data for a load workup?

Looking for data using the .224 Berger 73gr Target
BL-C(2) powder
LC13 brass with an average capacity 29.8gr of water
18" barrel, 5.56 chamber if that matters

don't have quickload, but the Berger reloading manual lists the following for the 73gr target:

BLC(2) 22.0-24.5Grs

COAL: 2.260"

For an 18" barrel, you are looking at two Optimum Barrel Time nodes within the operating range of BLC-2. One is 1.0774, and the next one down is .9886

Given these parameters:
COAL 2.260
Bullet Length .970 (QL value for that bullet)
Case Length 1.750
Case Capacity 29.8
Barrel Length 18

Using the standard BLC-2 burn rate, you should hit the 1.0774 node at around 23.0gr. Second node of .9886 at 24.4gr. Approximate pressure is 47k psi, so you've got some wiggle room assuming max 5.56 pressure of 62k.

Of course the burn rate hasn't been verified in your gun/powder lot/conditions, so take it with a grain of salt. The best way would be to chrono & adjust the burn rate, but I think you'd be close by starting at 24.4, and adjusting up and down by .3 grains to 23.8 - 25. Start with the lower charges and watch for pressure signs as you go.

Great info thanks again! 24.5 confirmed safe in my rifle with no pressure signs, Gonna load up some 24.4s today and compare groups.

Yea your node is definitely in that vicinity. I would still load up that range I gave you, that you way you can make sure you at the exact sweet spot you need to be
