    Powder/reloading question

.ok, so I bought the Hornady reloading manual and my buddy has the Lyman reloading handbook.

neither book list Hodgdon Titewad on their recipes. but seems it can be used , at least according to Hodgdon reloading site.

am I good to go with Hodgdon Titewad even if not listed on the books? thanks.

Yes, you can go to Hodgdon's load data site and can input the cartridge, bullet weight and it will give you recommended powders and charges.

We would have to know what youre trying to load. That would be fine in 9mm, probably unsafe in 50bmg.

if books listed every possible powder for each cartridge you would have an encyclopedia set (we all remember the days we reached for an encyclopedia vs google right?) for the number of calibers they show. They typically show the most common powders.
primer, powder, projecile, press, load, fire repeat!

Use the Hodgdon data but be sure it's for lead bullets and not jacketed bullets. The Xtreme bullets are copper plated which isn't as thick or hard as jacketed bullets are. You may not run into troubles with .45 since it isn't a high speed round, but better to be safe that sorry.

Start 2.8gr, max 3.3gr. Per hogdons own data, available online on their site.

Makes for a real low velocity load.

Manuals have a wealth of information including load data but, they don't have every powder bullet combination. Most, if not all powder manufactures have load data available for all of their powders that cover a wide variety of bullet combinations. These are easily found with a quick Google search.
The Hodgdon Load Data site is a good resource for the powders that they manufacture.
