So I was watching a video on YouTube about using bulk Mosin ammo as a way to get a lot of .312 bullets for cheap. If I decide to go this route, what do I do with the rest of the round (casing and live primer)? And can i save all the powder and use it to reload with? I'm am new to reloading. I obviously can't throw it away

440 rounds of powder at about 40 grains each = 2.5 pounds = about $50. Is your gun and are your fingers worth that much?
Buy new powder and work up loads for it.
There is another guy on another forum that was doing this for another caliber but he was very experienced.
Best thing for you to do is to learn how to cast. I'm doing that for the Mosin. Not to save money but to load non-corrosive rounds where I can tailor the shots to my liking.

if you record everything from the box you might find someone who wants the powder / has worked out load data...So I was watching a video on YouTube about using bulk Mosin ammo as a way to get a lot of .312 bullets for cheap. as to the primed cases; if your sold them cheap enough someone could use them with their own powder. I mean; if they were 5 cents each or something someone could use them.Last edited by sl0re10; 01-14-2015, 7:26 PM.Comment

Thanks guys, I just want to pull the bullets. So I can reload them into my .303 cases. I just wanted to know what to do with the brass. I guess selling them to someone would be a good idea.Comment

you could also weigh the powder in few shells so you have the load info for the powder / bullet / case combo.Comment
