    RCBS Summit Single Stage Press

Just curious if anyone owns one?

I really like the no-overhang design, which is kind of the main reason I am looking at it right now... I was thinking of adding one to the bench just for bullet seating of my match ammo.

Anyone have anything to say about it? Good or Bad?

On a personal level I'd not own it. Why? Because it looks like it would come up short on Leverage for resizing anything over the size of 308.

Yes it will work just fine for your intended use of Bullet seating. Needs change over time. If you are short on space I would highly recommend the Forster CO-AX. Yes, it costs 50% more, but is worth the difference IMHO.

I own one and got it purely for the same reasons as you - no overhang off the bench. It produces the same quality match ammo as my old Rock Chucker.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it's harder to screw/un-screw the dies due to the limited space behind it. Also if you're planning to use it for bullet seating only, make sure the get the shorter handle.

The CO-AX is an awesome press, but it still mounts with an overhang and would get in the way where I want to put it. It would be nice to match them with my Forster Ultra Micrometer seating dies...

This would be my 3rd reloading press... I don't need the leverage, I have other tools for that. This would be setup near my automatic powder dispenser just for charge/seat operations.

Short handle was on the list...

Thanks for the input, as long as it meets or exceeds what I am getting from my RC I would be happy. I was considering an Arbor press, but I really don't want to have to shell out cash for a 2nd set of dies on top of it so Summit moved to the top of my list.

I did find this video review while I was searching around... figure I add it to the thread here.

Have one, use it for all of might loads with tighter tolerances (.300 Win, etc...). I find that it is more consistent over time than my RC... I currently have mine on the 6" Inline Ultra-mount with the short handle. If you have the extra scratch, get it, you'll like it.

The design is better for what you describe. The odd thing is that it has a 1" thread with a 7/8" adapter. I'd look for a product that has a 1.25" or 1.5" thread since that's what most larger dies will be threaded with if you need to use it in the future. I do not have a single 1" die.

this seems like a cool design, i like the fact that it can bolt flush on your workbench, but one drawback seems to be that you can't set primers with it.
you would need a dedicated priming tool.

I'm not super experienced with reloading but the single stage press I have used did have a cool little priming tool integrated on it. is it a big deal using a separate one? how big of a drawback is that?

Its not a big deal, and I don't think its a drawback... I prefer to prime off press anyways using a hand priming tool for my rifle loads vs using my existing single stage.

The only time I prime on press is with my progressive.

You are right though.... there are no provisions for on press priming with the Summit. Might be important to some.
