Pam cooking spray for case lube

I've seen posts on other forums and around the internet about people using Pam as case lube. Wanted to see what your guys (and gals?) thoughts are on it. Seems like a fast and cheap way to lube cases. I'm using Lee lube right now, just slow but other than that no complaints.

Have you seen what Pam looks like dry>? Will this not gum up your press?

The best lube I have used on cases is baking spray. A little of that stuff goes a long long way. You just need to make sure you clean out your dies when your done, esp in the summer. Resizing 223 and 308 is pretty easy with cooking spray.

No, I don't even use it to cook, I just use regular oil.

Not sure why people keep trying to re-invent the wheel.
Just pay a few bucks and get RCBS spray case lube or Dillon spray case lube and be down with it.

Yup, tried them all. We shooters like to experiment (at least some of us).
Motor oil - save the drippings from the oil can when you change your oil, just leave the bottle upside down and let the drops collect.

Bag Balm, Vaseline, baby shampoo, Lanolin suspended in Isopropyl alcohol (Dilllon), Mink oil, STP oil treatment, Pam, Hornady One Shot, Lee water soluble case lube they all work.

A thin film that covers the entire case body (not the shoulder or neck) is more important than quantity. Don't assume a thick glob at the top of the case will get squeezed down the body. That is a sure fire way to get a stuck case.

            Good luck.

Never heard of Pam, but I could see it working out.

I read elsewhere some guys use olive oil. Pretty much the same thing as Pam. Might cause some gumming in the dies. But I could see it working.

This is all interweb data tho. FWIW.

                  100% Agreed

However, if you decide to use PAM I would recommend the Butter flavored version. Then just toss some popped popcorn into your tumbler to clean the pam off and then it's snack time.

Just sayin, if we are going el cheapo we may as well go full bore..........

I've been experimenting with some stuff called Imperial Sizing Wax. I don't know what it's original purpose is, but it works great for lubing cases!

Make it 99% alcohol and lanolin.

food based lubes will go rancid. Make sure you get it off your rounds after you load or it'll start to gum up and smell.

No, just use REAL butter (LOTS) and work it into your corn media, then the case will be lubed when you size it. Remove the brass from your tumbler, then just add eggs, flour, baking powder, and a little sugar. Let it vibrate about 30 minutes, then dump into a baking pan and put it in your oven at 350 for 1 hour and you have some nice cornbread.
