Montana Gold has 223 55 gr listed at $233 for 3500 bullets or $82 for a box of 1000. I like them for pistol calibers....you can get free shipping or better if you can get an 8+ case buy together.

If it's heavy or requires a hazmat charge, more often than not it's your nearest gunshow.

            Natchez is reasonable.

I also like the Hornady 55gr FMJBT. Midway has it here:

I really like BLC-2 powder. 25gr with this bullet and WSR primers are very accurate in my OLL carbine. These guys are a good source for bullets and powder:

                here you go $38 per 500 $ 139 per 2000.

I dunno, I've never been much for guns. I mean, sure, we have the usual gun by the door, another near the TV, one in the kitchen, and another in the bedroom...and several others laying around. For the most part though, we keep our home free of guns. We are peace loving folks.

                    I don't think bullets require a hazmat

Within a few $'s of the Widener's 55 gr. FMJ bullet is http://www.lockstock.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HRN2267B
with their Hornady (.224) 55GR FMJ/BT W/C BULK (1000CT) for $68.79. Momentarily out of stock, but they do load and shoot quite well.
                      But don't forget http://www.ammunitionstore.com/price...g_supplies.htm for plinking 55 gr. $40/1000.
Try some of the Widener's 62 gr. lead core at $39/500 and 62 gr. FMJSCBT SS109 for $42/500 and 75 gr. HPBT for $57/500.
                      Thanks,

You just Necro-posted on a 2008 topic. I'm sure their prices are well higher now.
