I hand primed about 300 casing of 223 without trimming. Found out afterword that the trim length was a bit to long. The trimmer I have uses pilots so needs to be deprimed to trim. Yes I'm newer to reloading and should have checked before priming. Anyways, just deprimed all of them and trimmed and was able to recapture all the primers. Can I reuse those primers? Or do I scrap them and call it my $10 lesson learned? They look fine but thought I'd ask before making another possible mistake.

Lee quick trim? Doesn't require depriming. -
What is a bit long? You can shoot them if your rifle has sufficient headspace. If the trim length is 1.760" or shorter, it shouldn't have issues as that's the SAAMI max, but most rifles have a little extra room.Comment

I cut the pin off my lee hand trimmer. I can trim with primers installed. I dont use the holder.Comment

If you don't have a headspace gauge, I'd load a couple and see if they cycle. 1.766" probably is going to fine for AR plinking. Otherwise, OP, what's your location? Find someone nearby with a Giraud and those can be handled in a few minutes.Comment
