I may need some help- Load development

I'm loading the 375 H&H with the 235 grain Raptor at 3,000 fps (4,724 Ft-Lbf at the muzzle) and need to shoot some groups off the bench for accuracy testing.

Does anyone have a spare shoulder?

If I can get it going to 3,100 fps, JBM says it will just be supersonic at 1,000 yards. I'm not sure that I want to shoot this load prone.

I wish I was near you for I like shooting African Safari type rifles and calibers. It's been a while since I shot big bores.

Just wondering why you need to stay supersonic at 1000 yards? Is this for long range hunting?

I'd use a brake in 5k ft-lb territory, otherwise yeah, I'd imagine you'd feel it a bit unless you have a 30lb stock.

I made a heavy ( 50lbs ) gun rest I can strap the rifle in and adjust up and down.

I like my shoulder and to be able to see.

Isn't this why the Caldwell Lead Sled was made? I can't imagine squeezing the trigger while waiting for that mother to hit. Flinch City for me....

You must be doing some serious long range target shooting to worry about dropping sub sonic at 1000 yards.

First time I ever shot a 375 h&h was also the last time I shot a 375!!! It was a friend's model 70 sporter. Our friendship quickly ended afterwards

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

My model 70 is a *****cat, I enjoy shooting it with the standard load of a 300 grain bullet at 2,500 fps. These light bullet, high velocity rounds turns it into a faster recoiling gun, kind of like a 6 Lb, 300 Win mag.
