Umm...not likely, since I haven't seen the OP indicate a desire for those velocities with cast bullets, nor did I indicate such a desire.

Well then, by all means stick to warmish pistol velocities.

White label Cred lube is advertised to 2700 fps, but I don't know if that is with or without gas checks (I suspect the former). I use it for everything.

NOE molds are top notch and come in GC and non GC versions, depending on the design. I use a copy of the Saeco #315, but it is plain base, and a 5 cavity aluminum NOE mold. I only push the boolits to 1300 fps. The weight is 180 grains, and I lube the bottom 2 or 3 grooves with Cred. This mold sells for $99 and is made in Utah on CNC machines.

RCBS steel molds work very well, but mine are 2 cavity. Lee molds are cheap, but the quality isn't always great and they don't even compare to the custom molds.

For 30 carbine, I use an RCBS steel mold to cast with, and I run aluminum gas checks and Cred on the boolits. Some people use plain base in the 30 M1 carbine and claim to not have leading problems.

If you want to save money but still use gas checks and don't want to lay out $$$ for a gas check maker, look at vulcanchecks.com. Their copper gas checks are about the same price as Hornady checks, but their Aluminum checks are thick (13 or 14.5 mils) and cost $10 less/k with $2.60 shipping, it's still quite a bit cheaper than the Hornady checks. They also sell in smaller quantities and sample packs but for that price, I'd probably go with a full thousand and be set for a while.

Glen Fryxell (From Ingot to Target) has an article where he did a review of their checks.

+1 vulcan checks are great! I've pushed them to 1600 fps with no problems
