    I think max is 44 or 45. Back off 10% for starting. 41gr should keep you safe.

      Got the Sierra book here...175gr HPBT MatchKing with RE-15, Fed 210M primer, Federal case:

      35.8 = 2200 fps (Sierra's starting load...they say don't go below this)
      37.6 = 2300 fps
      39.5 = 2400 fps
      41.3 = 2500 fps (Sierra's max load)

        Thatks, but I think Sierra is smoking the good stuff! Those loads are way low! I have loaded as much as 45gr of RE15 under 175SMK's with no pressure signs.

          I agree as well. They also under estimate the loads using Varget.

              Out of your 5R right?

              Try 42.5grains of RL15. 175smk, 2.815oal.

              Should be somewhere around 2650fps.

              If you want a smoking hot load, use Lupua Brass and stuff 44.5grains of Varget, 2.815oal. Work up slowly though and watch for pressure signs. You might get around 2800fps out of that factory barrel.
