I'm partial to Accubonds, but if you're hunting in CA, you'd better stick with TTSX/TSX's, E-tips, or GMX's.

They all work...but if you can reload the Hornady Interlock and the Sierra Game King I like!

Do I need all-copper bullets here in Kali?

If the state is successfully sued for banning lead when it did nothing to help the buzzards condors, you may not have to worry.

Parts of the state require non-lead ammo now and have for awhile.
For those areas a 130 or 150gr TTSX works very well.

For the rest of the state, for now, a core-loc, Hornady SST or Interbond or Nosler Partition in 150gr would be my choice.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Second on the Accubonds! I took a nice buck this year with one shot, one kill, out of my LMT MWS. Had good expansion for a DRT kill but retained enough mass to pass right through without making a mess. If you're patient you might find inexpensive factory seconds like I did that make practicing with your hunting rounds affordable too!

Most of these factory loads with solid copper bullets seem to cost way more than lead core ammo. Is that what we have to look forward to here in Kali?
                  Thanks...

My Barnes 165 grain TTSX bullets for 308 Winchester have enough energy and are very accurate. Of course I reload myself.

because all hunting will be illegal by then

^^^ Not sure where you get that. I get very tiny groups with 130 and 150gr TTSX at max speeds in 308win/30-06 and 300win mag.

They often group better the faster I push them across the board for cartridges I load them in. I use TTSX bullets in 25, 6.5mm, 7mm, 308 caliber so far.
