    Looking for a 8mm mauser load for a FN49

    Hey guys,

I recently picked up a FN49 and been researching for a load it. I've seen a few loads where loaders would use IMR 4895 for the powder and CCI #34 (hard military) primers.

However, I haven't found some good hard data for how much powder to use and what type of bullet to use. Ideally, I want to use a FMJ or SP round that's about 175-185gr.

    Any good ideas?

Hard primers are a good choice in a semi-auto to help avoid slam firing. I haven't loaded for a semi auto so I can't help you there, But if you google 8mm load data, I'm sure you will find something. Just start low and work up a load to your liking. And checkout http://forums.handloads.com/ or http://ammoguide.com/
