Who wants to reload .22!

WAY overpriced for what it is. I understand though: profit and all. They encourage using black powder and match heads. So there's that.
Might be good for TEOTWAWKI when you've chosen a .22 as your only survival weapon.

Sorry, not sorry.

This seems to get posted about one every couple months...Comment

That's cool but by being expensive and time consuming it seems to completely defeat the purpose of .22lr. I could see it being useful in a survival situation, being able to make bullets out of common household items is definitely cool, but no where near as easy or efficient as reloading centerfire.
Still I'm sure somebody will buy that kit and load up 555 rounds of the stuff and try to sell it on Calguns

I can't keep up with what I already have. Folks should embrace the cheap .22lr shortage. In relative terms, real .22lr ammo has gotten cheaper. Pay $0.10/round and get some of the basic Eley or SK; it's not even comparable to the Remington Garbage Bullet or other stuff that'll crap up your gun.Comment

The mention of the use of match heads struck a memory bit --
During wwii we used to take two cap screws and a nut -- put several match heads into the nut then screw the two cap screws into the nut --
Throw the contraption into the air and get a firecracker when it landed on the pavement.
match heads were available, firecrackers were not -Comment

I think this kit does not come with the priming compound that you need and if you use crushed strike anywhere matches method, remember that that is going to be corrosive and you got to clean your guns as soon as possible. Also it occurs to me that you could get a .22 caliber air rifle, a really nice high powered one, for the price of this kit and then you wouldn't have to worry about .22 ammo in a SHTF situation.Comment

Or just stop shooting all of your ammo and all will be good. I know two guys who use to load their own 22 ammo they did it for about a year and gave up, too much work, money and time and nothing to gain in return. Same guys made bullets with 22 caliber jackets and that was a waste as well.Last edited by toby; 11-26-2014, 6:00 PM.Comment

Might as well just get a PCP air rifle/pistol and shoot .22 pellets.==================
