LNL case activated powder drop

Hello all,
I have a Hornidy LNL progressive press with the case activated powder drop.
I can only back out the pistol plunger so far then I have to change the drum to the rifle drum for loading .44 mag.

My question is if I get the rifle micro meter plunger.
Would this throw accurate enough for say 4.0gr of Titegroup for .9mm?

I am trying to keep from having to change out that drum every time I want to load .44mag, then back again for smaller stuff.

Should I buy a 2nd powder drop or will a rifle powder micro meter work?
Someone else must have had this issue?

Personally, I think the micrometer is a waste of money. I bought the one for the pistol rotor and it won't hold. It continues to throw more and more powder the further into the run you go. I've completely taken it apart and tightened everything up, same result. Further, you're asking a lot of the rifle version when it comes to measuring smaller pistol sized powder throws. I just change out the entire rotor assembly when going from mag to standard loads. Takes a whopping 3 minutes (literally) and the standard metering insert works great.

Change the drum, it's much easier. Get a few spare O-rings while you're at it, mine dry cracked...

I have never changed out my drums on my LNL powder drop. I can easily run 4.5gr Unique through the rifle drum for 9mm which is my lightest load I load for. I do not know about titegroup though.

^This. I couldn't get consistent drops using a few different powders for pistol with the rifle drum. It takes few minutes to change the drum.

There is a small pistol insert and a large pistol insert.. Use both with the pistol rotor. You can also use a pistol micrometer insert, but it's a luxury, not a solution that I know of. For loads below 5.0 grains, you should use the "small pistol insert" with the "pistol rotor". You should be fine never changing out the rotor. Changing inserts is much easier, although a bit less messy or tricky using the funnel insert (separate purchase) to empty the hopper.

Note that my powder measure came with the large pistol insert. I'm not sure at this point, but you may have to purchase the small pistol insert.

I'll second the "buy a second one" sentiment.
I've actually got several Dillon drops. A couple are set up for pet pistol loads and one is set up for a .223 load with the larger rifle doohickey already changed over.

I actually did that, but wouldn't recommend it. With Hornady, that is serious money to have an entire second assembly that is ready to just LnL. Changing rotors is just not that hard, but I don't think it is necessary in any case, as outlined earlier. I think one just needs separate powder measure inserts to preserve load settings. You also need either to swap out PTXs or have an entire lower assy for each caliber, preserving the flare settings.
