I've been tinkering with a site that is set up to use ammo as a "currency" to pay for auctions or goods/services from the site's store fronts. The focus is on trading ammo for guns and accessories, but there are a couple of categories for any other good or service. A basic auction or store is free.
The idea is to provide an alternative to sites that use precious metals as a medium of exchange. Precious metals cost money to store and use and if you store it at your house, it is pretty useless...unlike ammo.
Given its widespread use and availability, 9mm is the current base currency, but I've posted conversion rates for the other top cartridges.
It is in "beta" mode so I'm sure there are bugs and things to be worked out. Site design is also minimal and subject to change. Please take a look and let me know what you think, I'm looking for feedback and constructive criticism of the site/concept:
