I've heard more than a few disgruntled Internet posters describing their unhappiness with that particular press.

I love the Lee dies and their Classic Turret press, but if you're going to get a progressive, you might want to look at somebody else's.

Varget seems to be one of the more popular .223 powders.

Bullets....you can't beat Sierra match kings for price/accuracy. If you just want short range plinking ammo, however, I think virtually any bullet will do. You could also get cast bullets as well.

I have a Lee 1000 that has reliably made many thousands of rounds. It does require a little bit more tweaking than my 650, but I never had any real problems with it.

The worst thing is that it only has 3 stations IMO.

And why is that a problem?

                What kind of "tweaking"?

Minor adjustments here and there and some cleaning.

Ammobros in Cerritos is a good place but some will argue that its not in the OC. Then theres turners in Fountain Valley. The best bet if your not a a super hurry are gun shows i think theres one coming up next month you can get powder and primers there fairly cheap. if you need any help or need to barrow some stuff like a case gauge send me a PM it looks like im in the neighbor hood. Use syn motor oil for case lube its cheap, last forever, and only need to lube one shell per 5 or so. the powder im using right now is H335 and CCI SR primers with 55gr FMJ-BT Hornady bullets.

Reloading is not something you rush into.
Do your research before you buy things.
That way you won't have to buy twice.

I suggest getting a single stage press to load bottlenecked cartridges on. Also, you need a trimmer, a good scale, calipers, a way to swage or cut crimped primer pockets, a bullet puller of some sort (you will need one), dies, shellholders or shell plates (I'm not familar with that press), torch or other way to anneal, etc. Primers, powder and bullets come after brass prep. So, you have a little time to get those after you start working your brass.

I always recommend a reloading manual as the first piece of reloading equipment to purchase.
After that, get the tumbler and start cleaning all the brass you have saved up.

You would be best to come over for a short lesson.
Trial by fire blows things up when gunpowder is involved.
For rifle cases, you lube every one.
                              What lube are you using?
