    Old primers

I was given some old primers and not sure if they are okay to use. Not sure how old they are or how they were stored. They all still look brand new. What do you gents think?

    I'll take them.

If they look good, then their GTG

Try a few if your worried they got wet or something once / don't load hundreds of rounds to find out they're damaged.

It takes a lot to kill a primer. Check this out. http://www.theboxotruth.com/the-box-...il-vs-primers/ If you're still on the fence about them I'll gladly take them off your hands.

I still use primers in that type of box. I've had them stored in green 50 cal cans. I bought way too many (10 box's) cci large mag rifle when they were $1.09. They all still work fine. Not knowing how well these were stored use caution. Load a few in empty cases and fire them. Listen to the sound,if they all work try a few loads.

I'm still using primers from 1967. CCIs just like those boxes. Never had a dud.

I have a bunch of primers just like those and they work good as others have said.

I have those same primers and they work better than the new Win ones I bought. I had 3 duds with the Win out of 1000. Never had one before or since.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

I bought 1K each Federal large and small in 1980. Just now on the last 100. They sat in a dry place for over 20 years before I finally put them in service. Not a single misfire. In fact, I have never had a primer fail yet. I use CCI and Win too.

Nor do I Dude, nor do I. Small boxes/sliders were so much easier to use.

They look good. I'd use them and if you don't want them I'll stop by to grab em off ya.
