    Reloading 5.56 / 223 on a LoadMaster / Questions

For those that reload 5.56 / 223 on a LoadMaster...

Do you prime on the machine or off?

About how long does it take to switch calibers? From 9mm to 223 to 44mm ect...

Also any tips or suggestions would greatly help as well!

    Thanks all!

I could never seem to get my primer station to work the way I wanted it too on my Load Master so I would prime on my bench primer. It was one extra step but it eliminated any issues that may have happened. When I changed from rifle to pistol calibers it seemed to take 30 to 45 min. I would make sure to give everything a quick cleaning since I had the shell plate off and the dies out. Its just like anything else, the more you do it the faster and easier it becomes. Unfortunately I never got my Load Master to run the way I wanted it too, I tried but finally ran out of patience and bought a Pro 2000.
I have done so much with so little for so long that now I can do almost anything with nothing at all.

Prime on the machine; I never have had all the issues about priming on the LM. To swap out the primer bits, about a minute of so, same for the turret head if that's loaded with pre adjusted dies and powder measure. Probably 5-10 minutes to swap and adjust the case feeder, depending on how talented you are mechanically....

Go look at the '27 year old' thread from today for my comments on LM's...
