I look for once fired range pickup.
If it has the original primer, you know it has not been reloaded.
I consider dirty brass left at the range that nobody wanted.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

If I buy used brass I will never buy it if someone else has done anything to it, especially de cap and size.

Besides military brass with a crimped primer, how can you tell a primer is original?

If I'm buying I prefer cleaned so I know it is good. I can pick up dirty brass myself for free.

I've already poured the money into everything to clean my range brass, I'd rather get the best price on the brass I'm buying and prep it myself.

I voted dirty because I can sort and clean it myself and we all know time is money. And knowing the price will be less due to the work and possible junk case% gamble.

I tend to buy from commercial type outfits which have access to large amounts of like brass. 500-5000 of like headstamps. It's usually cleaned, but not what I'd consider polished.

I voted other because I buy new brass that hasn't been compromised by someone who doesn't know how to reload.

I've been buying new brass for years. I buy 1000 at a time.

                          Mostly .45ACP, 10MM, .38 special and .357 Magnum.

                          Right now I have 1000 .357 and 500 38 plus p headed my way..

For 5.56 I reload once fired Lake City.......30,000 empties in stock. I process small batches at a time..

But I just bought a cement mixer from Lowes to process bigger batches next year...

Dang and I thought the 5,000 I have on hand was a lot of work. Took me damn near a couple months to prep all that brass, doing 200 round batches here and there when I had spare time.

Mike, that's EXACTLY why I bought a rubber tub cement mixer at Lowes.

Seriously, my wife said WTF......you'll never get that done with your Dillon
Vibrator...........so I let her talk me (thru brilliant manipulation of the conversation) into heading over to Lowes. Haha.

Next, 40 pounds of stainless pins........
