Is my Speer reloading manual gtg for a Garand?

Are they giving load data for modern bolt action or is this data gtg for a Garand? I don't want to Kaboom my pretty relic.

They should have Garand-specific load data in there.

This thread should give you some ideas: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=993249

I will have to look at mine but I know for a fact that the hornady manual has garand specific info

        If in doubt. buy this.

Here is a good read as well: http://www.garandgear.com/m1-garand-ammunition

Hornady 9th has load data specifically for the M1 also.

          47grs of IMR4895 with a 147-150gr bullet is a standard M1 Grand load.
I do not remember any loads for the Garand in the Speer manuals.

Just about any med burn rate powder in the range of 45-47gr will be good for the M1.I personally wouldnt load any hotter than what the military loaded.Match M72 with the 173gr bullet had 46gr of 4895.+ or - 1gr ...ehh
