same caliber guns require its own casings?

so i own 2 mausers of the same caliber. I shot my reload in a k98.
now i'm ready to reload and shoot it with a gew98 of the same caliber. Is that okay? Or do i need to buy more casings just for that gun?

If it's also chambered for the same 8mm Mauser, then No. You can reuse the same brass. Just Full Length resize, reload and you should be GTG.

I would use a full length sizer, and size just enough to bump the shoulder to chamber in the shorter/tighter chamber. That way all your loads will shoot in both chambers and minimize working your brass.

you may even get by and only neck size for both guns. See if the fired brass chambers in each rifle easily, if so, your g2g.

Slug the Gew98 barrel to make sure it is not a .318 barrel. Some of the earlier ones are .318 instead of the .323 that the k98 is. The .323 bullet will not work in a .318 barrel.

its a 1916 gew 98 and i have used regular 8x57 mauser in it. thanks for the tip though

Either seperate it at the range or you're gonna have to full length size it, load it and shoot again. You just need to be sure its reloadable brass, if its old and foreign it probably has berdan primers. These are probably corrosive primers and if you don't have a special primer tool, not reloadable.

What sizer

What sizer die do you have? If you have a neck sizer die then you need to separate the brass for each rifle. If you have full length sizer die, and you are happy with that then you don't need to worry about separating the brass. But your brass should last longer if you only neck size for each rifle.
