Recommendations on a quality 10MM round?

Choices of 10MM ammo is pretty slim. Do they even make a Golden Saber or Federal HST type 10MM?

I've tried Hornady Custom Ammo in 180 and 200 grain and I'm getting jams almost one per/every other mag. At least I found that I like 200 grain over the 180.

Are you looking for a defensive load? A mild load or a load that brings out the 10mm's full potential?

I've got some NOS 180gr Federal Hydra-Shok I bought many years ago. It runs well in my S&W 1076 and MegaStar pistols.
I don't know if it's still offered though....

Looks like muzzle velocity is only 1050fps which I'm ok with and would like an equivalent that won't fail to feed. I'm also open to a 1300+fps recommendation. I'm still new to 10MM and looking for the right bullet for the gun.

I'm not into reloading yet, so that's out for now. I found this:

but it looks like it's for revolvers. Plus, like you, I'd prefer a 200gr.

I'd look in to the variety pack from Double Tap and figure out what you like.

i bought the 180 and the 200 grain double tap ammo.
it worked well in my kimber pistol, the velocity was about 50 fps slower than they said it was going to be.
that's okay! it worked well and the hornady bullet they load into the 180 load looks good

Check out Cor-Bon's 10mm DPX. That is what I put in my 10mm.

Is Double Tap a reloader? The components may be new, but the assembled rounds aren't specifically from Remington, Speer, etc.?

I do like the option to try mix/match, and the 135gr Nosler at 1600fps looks pretty wicked.

I'll probably try the 165gr Golden Saber, 135gr Nosler, 180gr Match and the 230gr Equalizer.

If I can find the Corbon DPX, I'll probably try that too.

I went with Doubletap and tried their 165-grain with GDHP (1400fps), and their 200-grain controlled expansion HP (1250 fps.) Both fed reliably, and the 200-grain had a more of a "whump" feel

Didn't chrono anything, but I had some CCI Blazer (180 grain, 1050 fps) to shoot against as a seat-of-the-pants comparison. The 165-grain kicked my seat more, and the 200-grain used a steel-toe. Really though, the heavier grain/higher velocity issue was not a problem at all--both of them are manageable, fun to shoot at least for a couple of hours, and most of all reliable. I don't like the idea of shelling out for 10mm rounds that perform like a .40. For what it's worth though, I used Remington's 180-grain as well, but for some reason that felt snappier than the Doubletap's hot stuff.

All of this was done from a Kimber Eclipse, full-size.
