Quick question

I am loading up some 223 loads using 55gr hornandy vmax, and while it says they need to be at 2.250, some got seated a little too deep, around 2.200 or so. My question is are these ok to shoot? they fit in the mag, and it is what i seated my 55gr sierras at

What powder did you use and how much? 2.200 is common COAL.

This bullet is flat base and pointed tip, but tip has little weight, so they are long for weight. 2.25" is standard. If you don't have a heavy crimp + max load you should be ok.

IMR 4895, about 23.1 grains. Min is 22.7, max is 25.1 for the 55grain vmax.

No heavy crimp, just enough to keep from setting back in the mag. See above for load. The hornady book states 2.250 for the 55gr vmax.

That's reassuring, thank you. I think I also loaded some around 24, which should still be in the safe zone.

they will be fine its just accuracy depends some on the bullet jump to the rifling

That's a fluff load. You'll be fine unless you have a really weak rifle.

I load fmjbt to 2.2 with varget and its been fine. The min coal is 2.200 so I wouldnt worry too kich about it.
