Case trimming and chamfering with LEE drill attachment.

Some people have asked me about the Hornady case trimmer setup. And while I don't knock it, it's a bit much$, slow, and bulky for what it does. Here is a video I made today of the LEE shell holder, case trimmer, and I think an RCBS chamfer tool all in one shot. It really saves time. 6$ for the shell holder, 7$ for the trimmer, and 10$ for the chamfer tool (locally).

I use lee chamfer tool. Otherwise the same. Fast, efficient, not as handy as yours because my drill doesn't have the big flat base on the battery. I use the Milwaukee M12, so I have to hold the drill.

Works well for my limited needs.

I use the hand version on 38spl. My SW 52s are very fickle about case length of course. Very first time through all cases, sort by mfgr, decap/resize, trim, deburr inside & out, clean primer pockets, then tumble. Then sort by weight and then just reload as usual.
Use all LEE except Lyman electronic measure & Dillon 550B for 38spl & 45acp, LEE 1000 for 9mm.

I just picked up a Giruad Tri Way trimmer. It trims, deburs and chamfers all at one time. It was $90 well spent. A little pricey, not that there is anything wrong with the method that you showed but I'ved done that and rather use the Tri Way Trimmer. Much faster.

I use an attachment on my lyman case prep center to use the Lee case length gauge and shellholder. Not as fast as a drill but I don't have to hang on to it and can do multiple steps including chamfer and deburr. Hard to beat the Lee stuff, especially if you have multiple/weird calibers like I do. Nice setup and video!

I do it the other way. I put the cutter in the drill and hold the brass by hand.

It's WAY faster. You need it set up one cutter, one rifle, but the speed is up there. Much faster than in your vid there.

Nice video showing the process OP. One main challenge I've had with the Lee trimmer is that the cases tend to slip out of the shell holder if not cranked down tightly. I processed about 240 M1 carbine cases with my Lee trimmer and my hands were hurting afterwards. When using it for small batches, 50-100 cases, it works well but more than that and your hards will start to cramp up. I got the Trim It is the last group buy and it makes fast work of trimming cases, I finished trimming 100 30-06 cases is no time. I'll save the Lee trimmer for trimming just a few cases or odd rounds that I don't have an insert for on the Trim It.

Enfield, I push through about 200 with a glove on and don't find it uncomfortable. I then prime and load the 200 and call it a day. If I have my buddy helping we will get about 500 done.

I'm wondering how it could be faster when your process doesn't allow the chamfer using the drill?

8mmFMJ, look into the Lee cutter with the ball handle. It makes gripping the cutter a lot better.
