    .284 Winchester brass or ammo

So I have an Uncle who is trying to find this ammo. I thought I'd come on here and see if some of you could give a helping hand.

Do any of you know where we can get some ammo or brass? He does reload so I'm thinking that getting the brass will be the hardest part. I'm assuming that dies and bullets are pretty simple to get.. I'm not sure of the rifle but I'm pretty sure its an old one.. not a newer model.

    any input would be appreciated.

          .284 Winchester brass or ammo:

I purchased the barrel, reamer and dies then I went about locating cases. the local depot for reloading and components said the cases were seasonal. They said the cases were made in the spring? I turned in a standing order, 4 years and no 284 Winchester cases. By that time friends were aware I was looking, slowly I was able to get the numbers up. I was given 10 cases by an old friend/smith/reloader at the end of least months along with 40 years of projects, components and equipment etc..

I struggle to find what I did to deserve his kindness.

Thx Guffey .. That's kind of what I thought we were going to run into.. I did read over on snipers hide out that they were seasonally ran... interesting that you have a standing order for 4 years.. a bit discouraging .... I need to do some more research on this necking up of the 6.5... any input on that?

            Found this thanks

Keep praying that all the FClass shooters switch back to .284 from 6.5/.284!

Brass is seasonal meaning only made once a year or so and distributed so when you find it buy it, get on a waiting list and order some. I had to do this for some I use.

I found about 100 pieces of once fired .284 brass on the range last week, along with a bunch of .270 brass. What they were doing about 15 yards from the targets I have no idea. I gave them to a friend that hunts and has rifles chambered in those calibers.

I convert .284 brass to 7.5x55 Swiss. I've purchased it twice in 100 round bags from Grafs.
