Super stiff pull when resizing

How stiff is your press without any brass in it? What kind of lube?

Reloading newbie here. I'm using RCBS small base dies in .223 and .308 on a RCBS explorer single stage press. I'm finding the pull when resizing to be extremely stiff. I'm lubed and brass pushes in easy enough, but it seems overly stiff on the pull. Running the brass thru a 2nd time doesn't see any easier. .308 cases require even more effort than .223.

My relaoding table is a bit flimsy, so I don't know it thats a contributor.
