    7.62 X 39 bullet question

I have been saving my brass and have the dies for reloading X39. I am wondering about the best sources for bullets for this caliber. I will be firing from a Yugo SKS. My Lyman manual tells me that I should slug the barrel to be sure if it is a .311 or .308. I have no idea how to slug a barrel. Any help here?

Here's an easy how to for slugging your barrel.

I ran across these bullets at Titan Reloading - 123 gr FMJ pulled bullets. I purchased Hornady 123 gr V-Max bullets from Grafs but I haven't had a chance to shoot them yet.

I shoot Hornady 123grSP bullets in mine. They are .310 diameter and work well in the 4 rifles I had/have
The pulled bullets would be good also since they were in ammo designed for the 7.62X39
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Yugos use 0.310" bullets. Most of the time it is bigger. I slugged mine to 0.3126". Loosy goosy, but it still shoots acceptably with 0.310" bullets.
