Used a friends hornady scale, all my loads are light

I have my old reliable RCBS 505 beam and a franklin cheapy. I check them across each other when I am setting up some loads for the dillon. I set the RCBS up for my target weight and use the franklin for when I am making adjustments to get to my target weight to save time. They are within .1 of each other pretty consistently. You have to make sure there is no granules of spilled powder and it has a fresh battery in the franklin, also I make sure the powder dish weighs 122.2g when I first put it on the scale before I zero. If it weighs signifigantly off there is a chunk of powder or something else throwing it off.

All loads went bang out of 2 LAR308s. Didn't take the 30.06 out today. A good friend of mine who loads his own ammo came along (with his .308 that is identical to mine but a 4 inch longer barrel and a 50mm scope). His scope was dead on with my loads. Very surprising. His loads of IMR4895 at 43 grains were dead nuts with mine.

41.7 grains of cfe223 and 150-155 grain FMJ, HP, and SPs seem to be a great combo. I am actually glad I didn't load em hotter like the 47 I was looking for. I'm new to CFE still and these loads worked out well.

Side note* I found a few hundred 30-30 fresh fired brass in the desert and about 1000 .223 REMs. My new p2000 also shot flawless on its maiden shoot.

Many loads are still accurate considerably below max - surprise!

Unless you have a pressing need for a certain velocity, try lighter loads. I like my .308 150g bullets loaded with 38g H335 instead of the recommended 43g. 2460 fps is just as good as 2720 fps, it's easier on the shoulder and is just as accurate.

You must be a reloader. Sometimes the highlight of the day is to come home with more brass than you left with.
