    Shotgun Reloading ?

Not new to shotgun reloading but it's been a really long time. Where do you guys go to get your best deals on shotgun reloading components?

I go through ballistic products. I find there wads are far superior and they make wads for reloading steel shot too

OMG did someone post a discussion topic in the sales forum.

            Hey Stilley.

            Just kidding,

I hate it when folks say you don't save loading shot shells. When compared to the cheap Wallyworld Federal game loads. However if loading a trap or skeet load the savings are near 50% Go price AA target loads.

Any how for me it is Phillips or Ballistic products.

Network with shooters are your local trap club and link up with the serious reloaders. They often have connections to group buys. Further, many of the gun clubs will resell reloading components. For example, my last big purchase of lead shot was from a range that had just mined and recycled their lead shot. They sold it at under-market rates.

Right now you can find AAs for $7.99-$8.99 a box for standard loads and Winchester has a $2/box rebate going. Although you can load cheaper than that, you aren't saving much.

I suspect when you talk about a 50% savings, you are referencing full list price. Regardless, your point about comparing a premium reload to Walmart bulk promotional loads is valid.

Sorry still working off a the shot I bought at $20.00 per lb. Current shot prices make me want to buy a shotmaker.

The only way to load and be cost effective is to buy in bulk. Find a deal and buy a lot of it. One hazmat fee covers up to 50lbs so buy 20-30k primers

and/or several 8lb powder containers at one time. I usually go in with friends to buy in bulk. That is how these guys have $12 and $20 shot they are s

till shooting. You can save ALOT of money over time doing it this way. If you are going to only buy small quantities, the price will not be worth it. Good luck!

Specialty loads, sub-gauges (other than 20), waterfowl loads and slugs can see significant savings. With .410, you can save a bundle.

Networking as a reloader can turn you onto some deals/group buys that you will miss otherwise.
