Ever seen this on a Dillon?

This is off a Dillon 650 XL. I setup my son and his buddy for some 9mm and watched for a while. Then I went off to other duties. Ten minutes later; Dad we need your help. This thing looks like it broke.

What! The plastic cam under the ram broke. Ever seen this? Boys are very responsible engr. students, soon to graduate. They're a smart, responsible pair so I trust their explanation.

They said it double fed a piece of brass....they cleared and stroked it again...double fed again...then they notices it wasn't rotating....then they looked around and found the broken cam hanging underneath. If you look at the pic, the fracture area does look a little thin. Ever seen this before? Thanks all.

Yup mine has broken too. I'm in Sacramento with an extra one. If your not close then just call Dillon and they will send a new one for free. Even though dillon will send you a new one I suggest gettin the maintenance kit so it doesn't slow you down when something g does break.

Ahhh. Thanks guys. Much appreciate the offer. I'm stocked up pretty good for about a month so I'm not in any need right now. Since I've run this for only about 8 mos now, just wanted to make sure I wasn't totally ...unique.

I'll call Dillon in the morning and buy a pair. Thanks again!

Yep - broke on mine too. Bought two just in case. I have NO idea why they just didn't cast it in metal. That plastic is just a weak link waiting to fail.

what usually breaks it is if you tighten down the big bolt that retains the shellplate too tight. There is a narrow window that it is too loose and the shell plate snaps into place spilling powder and too tight where it feels like it is binding and that breaks. Really helped getting a bearing kit for the bolt and also I used some super moly grease on the metal that plastic cam contacts to turn the plate. BTW I keep a couple of those extra as well

Broke the same piece on my 650 more than once. Have a spare so no downtime, call Dillon and they will get one out to you!

That's the ring indexer pn 13677. I've broken two so far. Usually only breaks when I deprime at a fast pace. If you have a spare parts kit it will be in there. If you don't you should get one.
