XM193 (Brown Box), Lot 222, Primer issues?

Has anyone shot Lot 222 of the brown box XM193? I have been pretty happy with the ammo in my AR.

However, with this new lot, I am seeing blown primers every once in a while. There are no signs of overpressure, otherwise.

Shot through a Noveske 5.56 barrel. I didn't have any issues with the last case of XM193 but have seen a few over the couple hundred rounds I've used from this case (maybe 3-4 in 200 rds). Headstamp is LCXX, no NATO cross. Packaged in a brown Federal box.

I have noticed that the LC07 and LC08 brass (no NATO cross) has much less resistance when swaging with my Dillon Super Swage so there's something different with the crimp? (Compared to LC05 and LC06 which have the NATO cross).

    Thanks!

      ^^^
Uclaplinker is linking to my thread. Just wanted to chime in and say i've been having problems with LOT-222. I guess its just my luck that i ran this ammo through my gun my first time out.

Edit: are you going to call Federal or something? I'm not sure which course of action i should take. I would hate to put all this ammo to waste.

Haha, I just responded to your thread. I guess this might be a better place since it's specific to Lot 222.

At the last match, no one else was picking up .223 brass so I have all of it. I'll need to go through it and see how many blown primers I've really had. Two matches ago, I had a blown primer lock up my bolt. Had to remove the buffer tube to clear it.

I haven't had blown primers with Walmart's Remington 223 50-pack or my own reloads. Haven't tried any other ammo yet. But, again, didn't have any primer issues with my last case of XM193 (don't have any lot information about it).

I'll post any updates I get from Federal.

I went through all of the brass that I was able to pick up.

Looks like I was the only one that had XM193. Of all the XM193 I was able to retrieve, 103 cases total, 8 had blown primers, 3 had minor signs of overpressure. This is the first match that I've used only Lot 222 ammo.

Still waiting on Federal to respond.

Got a response from Federal. They say they haven't gotten any reports regarding Lot 222. They asked that I send some rounds back for testing.

Buyos1717, PM me if you want the address/contact info for sending some rounds back for testing also.
