    Rubber bullets?

You hear about these all the time from LEO use and on TV. Are they legal to buy? What are the specs? Can they be re-loaded?

Take your pick. Some are 12 gauge, others are 40MM.

Sure. Rubber and plastic bullets have been being reloaded by civilians since the 50's or 60's. Have you ever looked in a reloading catalog? Or even done a quick search?

Why would you even want rubber bullets? If you are justified in using your firearm for defense, would you want to explain that in court? "I was scared for my life, but decided to use rubber bullets"

You have a one track mind. There are many reasons for rubber and plastic bullets besides shooting them at humans. They have been used for at least 50 years for target practice.

Rubber bullets are great! They can be used for almost anything, and you don't even have to go to a gun store to buy them.

They work fine for nuisance animals and discouraging predators.

Bad decision then. If you use a firearm to defend yourself, you are using deadly force plain and simple. If you stupidly choose to use less lethal ammunition (there is no such thing as "non lethal" ammunition. Even blanks can kill.) to stop an eminent threat to yourself or others, you're a fool. Legally, there is no difference. The big difference is that less lethal rounds might not stop the threat when normal rounds would have. Would you rather jump out of a plane with a normal parachute or one made out of tissue paper that "might" work?
