    powder safe for m1a/m14

Hey guys, I'm a bonehead when it comes to reloading that said. My buddy recently got his setup going, and is willing to let me use his setup. I will be reloading for a LRB m14sa, know 4895 or 4065 is ideal, but he doesn't have that. He does have BLC 2 and H335 anybody use these for an M14 pattern rifle before? If so care to share your experience. If it all worked out and your op rod is still straight care to share your recipe?

The powders and bullets will be the same as for the M1 Garand

Burn rates for powder, nothing faster than IMR 3031 and nothing slower than IMR 4320

Bullet weights from 110gr to 180 gr Optimum weights will be 150 to 168 gr

If you come up with some, 3031 works very well in mine.

Get some stick powder and use it.A stick powder will be alot more consistent during the hot summer months.Ball powder is temp sensative.
        Keep it simple!

someone should tell the military. They're loading their .223 and .308 with ball powders. Idiots.

OP. BLC-2 is supposedly the commerical equivalent of what the military uses for .308 and is an excellent choice.

The military only uses ball for 5.56 NATO. Check some m118 LR ammo. Looks a whole lot like 4064 or RE15 depending on what year you have.
