    Need load check

I'm using LC brass, with CCI #41 primer and Hornady 75 gr match bullets Varget powder seating to 2.250.

I was planning on doing 5 rounds each of the following 8 loads.
    19.4
    19.9
    20.4
    20.9
    21.4
    21.9
    22.4
    22.9

Does that seem right before I seat the bullets?
    Thanks Guys

That's really light in my opinion. But, yes. You should be safe.

If you are talking about a 223 or 5.56, your top load is lighter than the starting load that Hodgdon recommends. It looks like you're wasting your time.

I loaded 77 gr (Graf bulk) HPBT in LC brass (neck sized only previously fired on my Savage bolt action) with CCI #40 primers seated to 2.350. I started at 22.5 grains of Varget and went up .3 grains till I got to 24 grains (25 grains is max in my Lyman book) My sweet spot was 23.4 grains with a .75" group, 23.1 grains was a .90" and the others were a little over 1 to 1 1/2 inch groups.

Where did you get your data? In the Lyman 49th a 75 gr A-Max has a min & max of 23 - 25.6 of Varget.

I load 24.5 gr of Varget and velocity is 2800fps.

This is for 556. The load data came from Hornady 8th edition under 223 Remington service rifle. Hodgdon has it as starting 22.5 and max 25. I will use those numbers starting at 22.5 and going up by 3 grains. Does that sound right with the #41 primers. Thanks again for the help guys.

Yup, I agree with everyone who says your loads seem light. During my OCW testing using 77 gr Nosler CC, LC brass and CCI SR primers, I loaded up to 24.6 gr of Varget with no pressure signs. However, whatever load range you choose to go with, make sure to always work your way up and always check for pressure signs.

Also, instead of making 5 rounds of each charge weight and just shooting for groups, you might want to try the OCW method. It helps you find your optimal charge weight. Give this a read: http://optimalchargeweight.embarqspa...ons/4529817134
